Technology predictions are hard because it entails both technical and business components, as well as a time dimension. Technology success depends on technical, production, market, social, and many other aspects.

What are the new technology trends that will dominate, and what are some of the technology predictions for 2023?

In this webinar talk, Dr. William Kao will report on technology forecasts for 2023. The webinar will present  what major institutions such as Gartner Research, and Forbes, are saying about 2023 technology trends.

Some of the interesting topics to be discussed will include

1.     Top Technologies for the Decade 2020-2030.

2.     2023 Technology predictions

3.     Technologies covered will include  perennials like AI, blockchain,5G, and IoT, as well as new trends such as : Datafication, Metaverse, Digital twins, Industrial Clouds, Applied Observability, and Platform Engineering.


Speaker Bio:

Dr. William Kao received his BSEE, MSEE and PhD from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He worked in the Semiconductor and Electronic Design Automation industries for more than 30 years holding several senior and executive engineering management positions at Texas Instruments, Xerox Corporation, and Cadence Design Systems.

 Dr. Kao has authored more than 40 technical papers on IC CAD at IEEE Journals and Conferences, and holds eight US software and IC design patents. He was an Adjunct Professor at UCLA Electrical Engineering Department where he taught courses in computer aided IC design.

Dr. Kao is a Senior Member of IEEE, and was one of the founding members of IEEE-Circuits and Systems - Silicon Valley Chapter.

Dr. Kao currently teaches Clean Technology and Emerging Technology courses at the University of California Santa Cruz, Silicon Valley Extension. 

He has given more than 100 seminars since 2009 on various Emerging Technologies including Clean Technology, Renewable Energy, Big Data and Data Analytics, IoT, Smart Cities,  Augmented and Virtual Reality, Robotics, Drones, AI / Machine Learning, 5G, 3D Printing. Metaverse and Satellite Communications.

Dr. Kao is a Technology Watcher, Learner and Teacher.
